The
noble Braúna Coffee has been produced for almost a century
by the Mattos Family.
The
first property of the family was acquired by Mr. Jorge Caetano de
Mattos in the 20's. Since then, the tradition has perpetuated by the
hands of his children and grandchildren. In the beginning it was difficult,
the hoe was the main resource and the transportation was made using
oxen carts.
The
family then looked for new technologies. They started by buying machines
for the coffee processing - that at the time were steamed moved -
and tractors - the frists in the region - until they got to the present
technology for the preparation of special coffee, through the process
of peeling of cherry grains (pulped natural process).
